So having a couple of days to think on this doesn't help with making sense of it all. It is maddeningly, intentionally, frustrating. That being said it is, as is parr for the Coen brothers, something really great and special.
Barton Fink goes off to write for the movies and it is certainly not what he signed up for. You will not understand what's really going on. It you will sit there riveted to it as much if not more so than Barton is riveted to the bathing beauty on his wall.
