While depicting Hollywood like a hell-inspired prison, the Coen brothers are able to tackle the industry and the hopelessness that is Hollywood (I've never been there but I'll take their word for it).

John Turturro has never been better, IMO, and Goodman is as good as ever. The film possesses a touch of surrealism, but in my opinion, one that actually enhances the film overall, rather than detract from it (Eraserhead, cough).

While this is viewed as one of the Coen's most important films, I think that it should be. To me it's behind O Brother and No Country. In fact, I wish this had gotten the praise that Fargo received, as looking back, this film is much more satisfying.
