Review of Barton Fink (1991) by Doug D — 19 May 2010
Possibly the Coen's greatest film (although I'm torn between this and The Big Lebowski) and certainly the one that makes you think the most. It'a as dense as any novel which is miraculous for a two hour film.
You could watch it a thousand times and come up with two thousand different theories on what the hell it all means. Immense acting (Turturro is amazing as always and John Goodman is one of the most underrated actors in cinema) as well.
Brilliance.
