Review of Barton Fink (1991) by Malcolm J — 07 Jul 2010
Like most Coen Brothers films, there's an underlying message here. The story is a parable...for many things. I think it's up to the viewer to decide what exactly each character represents and what point is supposed to be conveyed.
EXCELLENT acting. EXCELLENT writing. Some of this dialogue is pure gold and downright hilarious. The two detectives were my favorite, followed by the pompous, overblown Hollywood executive. I love the Coens; I really do.
