Review of Barton Fink (1991) by Nemesis D — 17 Feb 2011
A surprisingly weak movie from the Coen brothers. Like my friend said, it thinks there is more going onto it then there actually is.
The acting is top notch, like any Coen Brothers movie, and I get the themes and idea revolving around being a writer, but it's not really suspenseful or horrific, only frustrating and BORE-iffic.
Which I understand writer's block is, I've been writing for a while now and I feel the frustration. But seeing a two hour film about it doesn't work. And if the Coen Brothers can't do it right, then it probably can never be done.
If you wanna watch a writer go through hell in a room, go watch 1408 instead.
