Review of Barton Fink (1991) by Intuciic . — 24 Apr 2013
An interesting and eriely hypnotic film in the Coen Brother cannon, focuses on the central character of Barton Fink who goes to the proverbial hell and back that is writers block while making the uneasy transition from the world of theatre to film and finding ones inspiration in the most unlikely of places.
The Hotel he is put up in is very much a character in the proceedings harkening in a weird way a little bit of the overlook hotel and is very gorgeously rendered. Required watching as the Coens pick up some more of their acting company here with John Goodman, John Tutturo and Steve Buscemi who all return for the big Lebowski.
The twist or lets say the inspiration for Barton's eventual story burn is what makes this film a must watch.
