Review of Barry Munday (2010) by Tanvir M — 08 Dec 2011
I was getting upset with the Title character for his stupidity and crassness, and then realised that I have grown so used to watching larger than life characters in blockbusters that a normal man seems awfully flawed and unrealistic.
After that realisation, I enjoyed the movie a lot more. It's quirky in an Indie film sort of way, but both Patrick Wilson and Judy Greer deliver great performances, and it's more of a character study than a story driven effort, so keeps on meandering, but in a pleasant and enjoyable way.
Starts making sense only after half way, and I finished it off with a satisfied smile on my face! Good for Indie movie fans, but people accustomed to usual summer blockbusters will be disappointed.
