Review of Barry Lyndon (1975) by Ryan Gibbons — 16 Jun 2010
It's like an exciting emotional roller coaster. Ryan o'Neal plays the part to perfection, there isn't a time when we don't believe him. As far as Stanley Kubrick, you can only praise a person so much, there has never been a director who understood cinema so well, the shots are flawless and they really capture the setting and make the scene.
The movie really has little action, but the performances, writing, and cinematography make it completely enthralling.
