This masterpiece by Kubrick has lost nothing of it's impact and brilliance over the years. The amazing story of the rise of Mr. Redmond Barry and the fall of Mr. Barry Lyndon keeps you fascinated for the full three hours.
The historical details, the landscapes and palaces, the candlelit evenings, the fashion and faces, the weapons and warfare, it's all overwhelming. Of the small oeuvre of wonderful films he left us, this may well be Stanley Kubrick's best.
