Review of Barney's Version (2010) by Michael H — 16 Dec 2011
This movie captured my heart with its honest approach towards the foibles of Barney and his world. Paul Giamatti carries the role well and drew me into the character as a flawed yet lovable man. I think you're enjoyment from this movie will come very much from where you stand in your own journey and experiences.
Barney made me feel as if we all need to understand our own imperfections and the unfortunate ways in which we hurt the ones we love most--even when we cannot resist falling prey to our weaknesses. If you want a good laugh and a good cry, you'll get what you want from this movie.
