Review of Barfly (1987) by Matt R — 01 Dec 2007
The move starts with a long zoom into a bar and then into a fight there. It ends zooming out a fight inside the same bar finally zooming out the bar. Inbetween we follow Henry and his girlfrind at home and at the bar and not at so many other places.
Luckily I didnt know Mickey Rourke before I saw this film. It was the first time I saw him and I didnt think too much about his acting. A young Chinaski with unrealisticly smooth skin, but why must movies reflect everything "correct", was my impression. Among qoutes -hey boy fetch me a draft. -Your mothers count stinks like a carpetcleaner.
Been in Holywood. Bars are better in the movie, curiosity...
