Review of Barefoot (2014) by John R — 30 May 2015
A terribly likable, terrible movie. It's a remake of a foreign-language film that likely didn't struggle tonally in the way this one does, but just as likely didn't benefit from such charming leads.
Speedman acquits himself well in a facile role and Wood does the miraculous in playing an unplayable one so far outside the lines she draws a new reality the screenplay would have benefitted from creating for her.
