I have been a fan of some music by Ice Cube but not much. I loved him In the Friday series and when I saw the previews for this movie. I figured it would be funny like the Friday series but without Chris Tucker. The characters were well-developed by how they interact with each other and their different backgrounds and how they have changed since becoming part of the family in the barbershop with Ice Cube?s character of Calvin. The story was well-written with how a struggling businessman trying to pay bills, avoid losing his shop and keeping his customers coming back. The jokes were funny in a clean sense not like it was in the Friday series.

The movie is based on Calvin (played by Ice Cube) who inherited the barbershop from his father and had inherited the debts his father owed. As Calvin put it, ?My dad gave too many free haircuts and didn?t charge that?s why I am struggling try to pay them off.? He wants to keep the shop open by any means possible but it gets to the point where he makes the mistake of borrowing money from a gangster and regretting it after finding out what it?s going to become.

All in all this movie shows that don?t make choices you will regret later and realizing that people will help you anyway they can. This movie is more of a feel good make you laugh movie that will keep you coming back to re watch every time. That?s how I see it whenever I watch the movie and that?s how it should be with movies.
