Summary: The continuing adventures of the barbers at Calvin's Barbershop. Gina, a stylist at the beauty shop next door, is not trying to cut in on his business. Calvin is again struggling to keep his father's shop and traditions alive--this time against urban developers looking to replace mom & pop establishments with name-brand chains. The world changes, but some things never go out of style--from current events and politics to relationships and love, you can still say anything you want at the barbershop.
Review: This is not as good as the first barbershop, for one it seems like a rehash of the first one, the barbershop is once again threatened of closing. Same plot only slightly altered, but it has its funny moments, which are still quite less then the first. But ok, what I do not like about it, is how they threw in the stupid Beauty Shop reference, and everything so they could make a spin-off. We don't need a spin-off, Queen Latifah is already awful. But thats Hollywood for you, all about the money, which well what am I talking about, it won't make NOTHING. ZERO. ZIP. NADA. Anyways, yeah, the movie crosses the edge between good and horrible. The orginal was great, no need for a sequel really, definately no need for a spin-off, which hell will spawn a sequel for no reason at all. Anyways, if you like the orginal, this is at least worth checking out, Cedric The Entertainer is still great. I still miss Anthony Anderson, I love him, I know he wasn't a big role in the first movie, but he is hilarious. So bottom line, if you like the first its worth checking out, havent seen the first? Well then come on and at LEAST watch the first one.
Quote: [Calvin is about to eat a biscuit].
Miss Emma: Say grace first!
Calvin: Oh, uh... "Jesus wept".
Miss Emma: Why?
Calvin: Why what?
Miss Emma: Why did Jesus weep?
Calvin: 'Cuz he was sad.
Miss Emma: *Why* was he sad?
Calvin:'Cuz he was sad 'cuz they ain't let him eat his biscuit...

Review: This is one of those type movies that you don't want to like. It is in a sense a chick flick, or a couples movie, no movie to go watch with a bunch of guys on the guys night out or whatever. But putting everything aside inluding the genre and everything. Just reviewing this movie as a movie itself, its really not bad. It's not a movie you go watch and get entertained from all of the action scenes, cars driving off bridges, people getting shot or whatever. It really does have a great storyline to it, the acting is amazing, Rachel McAdams, was excellent. The chemistry and everything was there, unlike some movies you got a couple supposively in love, everything just looks to fake, but everything is good in this movie. Its got a few depressing parts, so if you take a girl, have kleenexs, lol. I was trying to actually give this not a bad review, but not a great review, I was thinking maybe 6 or 7, but DAMMIT, i'm going to give it a 8. *slaps myself*.
Trivia:.
-Tom Hanks and Steven Spielburg was once attached to this movie, but dropped out.

-Ryan Gosling went and live in SC for 2 months before this role, and rowed the Charelston river in the morning, and built furnature during the day. He built the kitchen table in the movie.
