Review of Barbarella (1968) by Henri J — 16 Mar 2013
I'm going to make this review short because I honestly don't really know why I liked this film so much. It might be that I like the fact that it knows what it is and never tries to be anything else.
But that is also a problem with the film, the film is terribly written, the acting for the most part is really bad, besides the opening scene all of the special effects are pretty bad, and the story at some points doesn't make sense either.
I think the worst part about the film is the constant sex, not sex appeal. Sex appeal doesn't bother me really at all. The problem is that Barbarella has sex around five to six times in the film, which is fine the first time but just becomes boring around the end.
And even though I just pointed out everything I didn't like with the film, I really did enjoy the film. The only problem is that I don't know why.
