Review of Barbarella (1968) by David S — 12 Jun 2014
Barbarella is a campy and hilariously below par movie. In its sexualisation and ridiculous story lines, as well as the random strange-accented characters, this movie is surprisingly fun to watch. There is so much going on, and so little coherence in story-development, it's obvious no one took the movie seriously whilst making it, so neither should you.
Jane Fonda, in all her splendour and iconic sexuality, is a marvel to watch, as she travels the galaxy, fighting and loving. This movie will be bookmarked for when I need to share this light-hearted fun with friends of same taste.
