Review of Barbara (2012) by Neil P — 16 Sep 2012
Despite being Germanyâ(TM)s official candidate for best foreign-film honours at next year's Oscars, I expect this moving picture will disappoint most audiences, particularly those who would like to see the country properly represented.
Containing a patterned surface depth of some historical accuracy, that's about where my interest ended. If it wasn't lauded for honours I might have enjoyed the film more, but next to other films from the same country, it's not possible to be kind when more worthy films, such as Hannah Arendt, would better feature for such awards.
