Review of Baraka (1992) by Ingrid G — 10 Aug 2008
This is not your everyday movie - there's no actual plot, dialogue, nothing. Just images beautifully shot in 24 countries from different continents. The point here is to read into those images, to extract meaning from the look of a teenage girl at the subway in Tokyo, or from people sleeping on the streets of a city like São Paulo, or even from nature itself, like Ayers Rock or Iguazu Falls.
In that Baraka is a celebration of life in this planet, the good and the bad, and it's a truly unforgettable experience.
