Review of Baraka (1992) by Viya R — 04 Jan 2009
Breathtaking, powerful images set to wonderfully inspired music. This is 96 minutes of sheer wonder. Profiles the best and worst of the world and the humans who inhabit it. While I did find myself wishing at times that I knew specific information about what I was watching, like what country and what the rituals were about, all in all it doesn't matter.
What matters in not where it happens and where it is, but that it happens and that it is at all. Beautiful and I impatiently await the sequel.
