Review of Baraka (1992) by Vincent V — 18 Jul 2009
I don't know if ron fricke is the first filmmaker to make a movie like this, but it's a brilliant, simple concept: film the real world like a dramatic Hollywood narrative. it's incredibly effective at showing you how beautiful our existence is, and at the same time, how crude and horrfying it can be.
I wish it was required viewing for all young people, as it gives a strong dose of reality and perspective. one of a kind.
