Review of Bangkok Dangerous (2000) by Georgieboy M — 10 Aug 2011
The original film that inspired the American version (also directed by the Pang brothers) is about a deaf mute hitman Kong (Pawalit Mongkolpisit) who's an expert in his field. When his partner and roommate Jo (Pisek Intrakanchit) is setup, Kong sets out on a vendetta against his employers who betrayed him.
Solid film with great action scenes and great character development. Pawalit Mongkolpisit gives a very solid performance as the mute assassin, this movie in some ways reminds me of Chan-wook Park's revenge trilogy with it's subtle hints towards the futility of revenge. Great movie, definitely worth checking out.
