Review of Bang Rajan (2000) by Cecilie B — 06 Jun 2009
I thought this was going to be a very turgid film but I was surprised; it was better than what I had though.
Two hundred years ago Burma invaded Thailiand (then Siam) and the only ones that fought back against a much bigger army were the villagers from Bang Rajan. Based on a true story, well true events anyway, this is an entertaining film with lots of humour thrown in, though quite brutal in its fight scenes. I noticed they had scored it especially for a western audience -- sad, I would have loved to hear the original score.
