I can see why the director and producers got mad at the studio. they took a good little movie with a smarter than average script about rock bringing people together and finding confidence and friendship, and sold it to tweens as High School Musical.
Vanessa Hudgens is miscast as a creative counter-culture chick who loves Evil Dead 2, but everything else about this movie is very effective.
