Review of Bandslam (2009) by Comasi_123 — 31 Aug 2009
An exceptional film, much better than what you would think. I almost missed this in the theater and am glad that I didn't. The lead actor, gaelan connell, who pays will burton, is a true find, convincing as a high school outcast.
The musical performances rock, and the film moves along briskly, until detours into sloggier dramatic terrain. Hudgens is only partially convincing as a Goth chick, but Michalka is her usual marvelous self.
I have been a fan of hers since the Phil of the Future series, and she still excels at playing the best galpal any outcast guy could ever hope to hang out with, while also being the coolest and prettiest girl in the school.
She's awesome and so is the move.
