Review of Bandolero! (1968) by Jezzy A — 06 Apr 2009
A good paced western which is a character study in a way. There is also a very good script. There are also a few good shootouts throughout the film.
This is essentially a character study between two brothers one who believes in the goodness of people and the other who does not. The two main stars James Stewart and Dean Martin play the two brothers and both have really good scripts throughout the film. The acting by both Stewart and Martin is also very good; especially is scenes with each other.
The casting is a surprise actually especially in the case of George Kennedy who usually plays the role of a villain but in this he plays the Sheriff and Dean Martin and James Stewart who usually play the hero play the villains (to a certain degree). But nevertheless the casting works.
Overall a good western which has an interesting cast, a good script and some fine acting by the main stars.
