With that great old Woody Allen wit, this movie shoots off like a rocket. Unfortunately, it slows to a subtle, satirical crawl, and trickles the laughs until a mostly funny, but dissapointing finish. As a satire of the turbulent South American political state in the 70's and 80's, "Bananas" is a period satire that sits dormant in the decade of its creation.
