I absolutely LOVE this movie! It's a wonder all the way through.
I am another who is not fond of Disney over doing the remake, they are usually a bit much, but this movie takes a tack of it's own and take you in a great direction.
The interaction between father and son is wonderful and wistful.
I practically know this movie by heart after watching it about 3 times a day for several months.
