Review of Bambi (2013) by Jamie D — 19 Sep 2010
Such a touching story of growing up, when watching, it is easy to see the level of care that was put into the production of the movie. Bambi's environment is lush and colourful and despite not even showing a human, the result of their actions to harm this environment is clear to see and is devestating.
The fatherly roles in the movie are shown to be that of a distant father whose ideals are still imprinted in their sons (Thumper always recites laws that his father told him) , and the final scene shows Bambi becoming this type of character as he looks over the forest with a sense of power, without actually being close to the birth of his twins.
A short movie, and one that quickly portrays key aspects of growing up without delving too much into the intricacies, from the highs, such as learning new words and skills, to the unfortunate lows, the loss of people close to you, Bambi's life could be emulated easily to anybody.
Bambi works on many levels, whoever is watching it.
