Review of Bambi (2013) by Aaron B — 22 Sep 2010
For a movie made sixty years ago, this is one hell of a good looking animated film. The story itself is top notch and challenges the kids watching it to raise their thinking to it's level rather than dumb down to a childs level.
That makes it enjoyable for adults also. Granted some smaller kids may have trouble dealing with the death of Bambi's Mother. However that was never a concern when we were kids and watching the movie.
The voice work is excellent and the characters are diverse and entertaining. If there is one flaw, it's the pacing. At some points in this rather short movie, it feels as if it is dragging. Not so much to ruin it, but just enough to keep it from being amongst the perfect movies.
