Review of Balto (1995) by Alexander Y — 27 Sep 2012
Severely underrated animated movie. The criticisms I hear about the film all say the same thing: it's not historically accurate. Well, that's not what the movie aims for. It's not a documentary, it's an animated movie meant to entertain families, which it does quite successfully.
The dialogue is great, the humor is tuned in just right, and the animation rivals that of Disney's. The movie is inspirational and heartwarming and it has entertained my siblings and I for years. Show your kids and hopefully it will do the same.
