Review of Balto (1995) by Caleb L — 25 Jul 2018
Balto,as a children's movie, is phenomenal. While the pacing might be fast it's a classic that I will adore for years to come. Our protagonist is a young "wolf dog" and is shamed by the people of the town as well as their dogs. Even though balto is shamed by these people he still chooses to do the thing that he believes is right. The most memorable scene is one where balto, after falling a great height and thinking he has failed his quest, places his paw into the print of a wolf and begins to howl, accepting the part of him that made the townspeople scorn him, but also a strength that leads him and the team home.
"Let me tell you something, Balto, A dog cannot make this journey alone...but maybe a wolf can".
