Review of Balls of Fury (2007) by Tom W — 28 Mar 2010
I loved this film! Absoleutly brilliant especially for older kids. It's about a young boy (Dan Fogler) who played Ping Pong for England, he was playing against adults and he was the only kid who played at that standard.
His dad always placed bets of his son winning his matches against the adults which of course put huge pressure on Dan. Then it all went wrong... He bet a massive amount of money on him winning against a very funny bad guy, German, who made funny sounds wheen he hit it, funny way of hitting the ball and in general looked funny. Unfortunately Dan loses and his dad couldn't pay the bet so they killed him... Then Dan packed in Ping Pong and grows up to be an unfit fat slob who performs in pubs with no life and no pay... He then hit a ping pong ball at a hobo and he says stop it, then he hit it over and over again at him until he got knocked out... Hahaha, By a Ping Pong Ball! Then the FBI come and Dan gets all scared and thinks that he is gonna get done for assault but it turns out they need his help.
The FBI train him to become a class ping ong player again and he had to train with a blind chinki, and fit chinki and even a 4 year old girl who he had to beat to be entered into a tournament the FBI were investigating.
When he was entered in, he suddenly found out when he beat the first person that if you lose it means death... HAHA he had the funniest reaction! And at the end some how it requires him playing ping pong with that slimey german bad guy again and after that playing ping pong over a pool of... ALIGATORS! How the hell does it get to that satge lol.
I recommend this film for anyone especially teens.
