Review of Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever (2002) by Sir A — 12 Apr 2008
An impossibly dumb film saved by performances from Antonio Banderas (that guy could star in anything and still be awesome) and Ray Park (who isn't too bad as elite spy agent bodyguard thing 'The Prince of Darkness').
Performances by the likes of Lucy Liu and other supports are abysmal, the film basically forgoes any coherent, well-told plot for blowing shit up, the blowing up of shit isn't even interesting (though, there is this one scene with.
..nah, I'm lying), the ending is anticlimactic, the direction is horrible, the writing is non-existent, the continuity is barely there, there's scant-all emotion, and the thing plays out with about the grace and poise of a troupe of Bulgarian male powerlifters doing Swan Lake.
Avoid at all costs.
