Review of Ballet Mécanique (1924) by Tio B — 27 Dec 2007
Leger's film establishes equivalences between humans and machinery with a series of highly rhythmic cuts (over 300 shots in under 15 minutes) that deprive inanimate objects of their symbolic meaning.
Great Antheil score, but watch it silent anyway.
