Review of Ballast (2008) by Darrin N — 27 Jan 2008
One of the most beautifully humane films I've seen in years, one that manages to be naturalistic and observant even as it is visually rich, relying as it does on the landscape and natural light of the Mississippi Delta for its beauty, rather than a wealth of lights and sets.
If you agree with me that "George Washington" and "Bubble" are among the best of recent American movies, then add "Ballast" to your must-see list.
