Review of Baggage Claim (2013) by Brook Y — 30 Sep 2013
Thank god I love Paula Patton, because this movie was so cheesy and cutesy but not in a good way. I would like. This movie to Swiss cheese, because there were so many holes in the plot it didn't make sense.
Paula's character tries so hard to be smiley and peppy and optimistic, I was exhausted for her. In fact I think my smile lines hurt watching her fake being happy the entire time.
The odd thing about this rom-co. Is that no one had/knows comic timing. So a punch line would come and often times would be dropped and fall flat because the character speaking it didn't know what they were doing.
There are a few funny lines and moments but all in all this movie is only a rental at best. It wants to be like "New Years Eve" but is so cliche filled that is plays like a Lifetime made for TV film.
