Review of Bagdad Cafe (1987) by Felis D — 03 Jun 2008
I will admit that I wasn't wowed by this movie on first viewing. I found it a little too arty, and the constant repetition of the "Calling You" song throughout was a little grating. BUT. It's been about 8 years since I last saw it, and I keep thinking about it and wanting to watch it again.
That says a heck of a lot about this movie's draw. The two female leads are very strong, and ultimately, the story is uplifting. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes little movies with a lot of heart.
