Review of Bad Words (2013) by Tom T — 11 Apr 2014
Bad Words...pretty straight forward. Jason Bateman showcases his trained refined comedic persona as he competes with children in a spelling competition. There's nothing much to say. It touches all comedic elements in a predictive but affective fashion. It has everything you would expect out of your average comedy. Bateman also directed the picture and it only ads to his arrogant persona, but again, it works.
It is mean spirited and can feel condisending, but between two mean Adam Sandler horror shows this one is ok.
