Review of Bad Words (2013) by Mark A — 06 May 2014
Bateman pushes the envelope with Bad Words, a film where he casts himself as a character outside of his nice-guy type-cast.
The film relies heavily on dark humor and the over-the top insults. I think it works in its favor, because the offensively insensitive jokes had me laughing at the shock value alone. And in a twisted way, the film even manages to be charming at times. The biggest problem is that the ending doesn't quite deliver something monumental as it would lead you on to believe.
