Review of Bad Words (2013) by Blaze C — 30 May 2014
One of the worst films I've seen in years. Makes fun of people for no reason, makes light of corrupting minors (including sexually); both of which I could forgive them for if it was remotely funny.
It vacillates wildly between being cynical and sentimental and fails miserably at both. Jason Bateman's character is reprehensible about 95% of the time with a solitary act of selflessness at the end.
Even when he's trying to be nice the rest of the time, he's only showing a little kid how to be an ass like him. This film will be a great litmus test for me to use when vetting future friends: If you like it, please stay away from me!
