Review of Bad Words (2013) by Brad S — 22 Aug 2014
I really liked this one, as a dark comedy, it's definitely my type of humour, which is tough pull off. The closest to this is "Bad Santa" which takes things a lot further. Bateman plays a guy who enters a children's Spelling Bee through a loop-hole in the rules, and proceeds to wreak havoc.
he is mean and abusive to the kids and their parents, but somehow gets you to root for him, not an easy feat, but is within Bateman's range which is why it's great he plays the lead, as originally he was only going to direct.
The kid who plays his sidekick is great as well. As long as you aren't offended easily, give this a try!
