Review of Bad Words (2013) by Dylan P — 09 Dec 2014
Bad Words is a slow, boring dark comedy revolving around an adult's attempt at revenge through a spelling bee. What appears to be the premise for a comedy sketch is stretched into a feature length film bloated with a copious amount of crude and vulgar jokes.
The characters are unlikable, particular Guy Trilby who attempts to redeem himself only to have little in empathy from the audience. The only positive is that of Bateman's directorial debut showing promise for his potential behind the camera.
A few Bad Words could be said about this film, but we'll keep it PG unlike this narrative felt necessary.
