Review of Bad Times at the El Royale (2018) by Helen S — 16 Oct 2018
Compelling characters, great performances, suspenseful mystery and gorgeous to look at. Great twists and turns in this suspenseful ride of a film. The story depth comes from several plot lines: the young girl hypnotized by a cult leader, classic good versus evil with a measure of greed lurking about.
How to forgive yourself is also a part of that complex story of being human. Tarantino-like fast-paced violence without quite as much blood and gore. Fantastic music score. A fun ride with creativity worthy of an indie film.
