Review of Bad Times at the El Royale (2018) by Dean M — 11 Oct 2018
In a world of remakes, reboots, movies based on comics, graphic novels and almost no original screenplays this is a EXCELLENT film that is both written for film and directed by the same person. Its refreshing to go to the movies and see a story that is totally original.
This film is loaded with acting talent and there are many moments for each actor to shine. There's lots of Tarantino influence here but its more akin to early Tarantino instead of the over-the-top slapstick violence he loves now.
The story telling is fun and the film, while clocking in at 2 hrs 21 min never loses you or makes you wish it would just end. More original stories made for film like this need to be made by Hollywood.
