Review of Bad Teacher (2011) by Jason R — 01 Apr 2012
I will admit, "Bad Teacher" was often laugh out loud funny in some moments and that's where the rating ultimately comes from. There's some charming chemistry in the unfortunately few scenes that Cameron Diaz and Jason Segel have together.
Justin Timberlake is good as the rich square, Scott, whom Elizabeth spends the entire movie trying to pull from the clingy clutches of Amy Squirrel, an irritating teacher who Elizabeth despises. In fact, you hate Amy so much you actually root for Elizabeth to show her what's up, even though Elizabeth herself isn't particularly likeable either.
It all reminds me of a raunchier, more vulgar version of "School Of Rock", except there isn't much of a pay-off in the end. Elizabeth manages to get away with her mis-deeds and because of this, I couldn't believe that she changed as a person because there were no actual consequences to bring about such a change.
