Review of Bad Teacher (2011) by Jillian L — 15 Jun 2012
The thing about this movie is that all the piece are there. Cameron Diaz does her best comedic work since Something About Mary, Justin Timberlake is hilarious as the sub and Eric Stonestreet had me laughing out loud as her roommate.
And I always love Jason Segal. Also, the story itself is clever. But, for some reason all the pieces didn't quite fit together. I honestly don't know what it was. I was overly annoyed by Lucy Punch's character, and the plotline itself was really obvious.
From the school standpoint, it was a female version of School of Rock, except the the teacher is more selfish, and the kids are not as memorable or funny. And then the whole rom-com thing with her going after one guy while the other is just kind of always there.
So, like I said really predictable. Honestly, this is worth a watch for the acting performances, they are really funny with some fun cameos, and Cameron Diaz is great. But it's one of those that you rent one night, watch once, be entertained for an hour and a half, then never watch again.
