Peter Jackson showed the world the beginning of his talent with this no-budget movie partially financed by the NZ Film Commission (!). Look closely and you will see ingenuity rarely seen on a movie of this scale; crane shots, forced perspective, and miniature model work.
Rarely has a splatter comedy been so ambitious.
