Utter silliness. but I guess one might expect that after reading anything about it. peter jacksons very early, low budget horror/comedy is short on explanation, way over the top on blood and beyond senseless gore.
like I said, its a horror/comedy classic. if you dont enjoy it then its pretty safe to say you dont like the genre. some pretty good one liners too.
