Review of Bad Santa (2003) by Bruce B — 20 Dec 2014
"There is always a little bit of Heaven in a minefield." Christmas movies come and go ho ho ho but Terry Zwigoffs' blackest of Yuletide visions warms my heart every year I trot it out. Redemption, compassion and understanding applies to everyone, even the most disgusting.
.and Willy T. Stokes as played to the evil hilt by Billy Bob Thornton ranks (literally) as the biggest lump of coal ever chucked down a stocking. Why this hasn't been produced on Broadway while 'A Christmas Story' has is testimony to 'Bad Santa's relentless ribbing of our crass commercialism tendencies over the holidays.
Just TRY and not throw up your egg nog...I dare you.
