Review of Bad Santa (2003) by Sean S — 28 Dec 2009

This is a wickidly funny film. Its a charachter driven film though with the charachters being the big reason we love the film. Not what happens that intruigesus its the fact that santa hates kids and the way he shows it.

The story is more complex than initially thought with a huge factor being Willies hatred for himself and the bond between him and the kid. Its also brilliantly worked how everyone is using him because he is Santa.

Marcus using him to get into the malls, the kid using him to keep the christmas dream alive and to have a friend, whilst Sue I using him to fufill a childhood fetish. You can really see that the Coen Brothers had something to do with it.

Overall its an aquirred taste but its a love or hate film and I loved it.
